Communication server is independant of CF. It communicates locally in XML so
I'd be surprised if you can't run it in conjunction with previous versions.
But you'd probably need to put the comms stuff on a seperate box anyway, as
its likely to be pretty resource intensive if you get lots of connections.

Also (and this is for everyone who may have missed it), the 500 dollars
price is for personal edition, which only allows up to 10 concurrent
connections. Its about 5000 dollars for professional. I would assume that an
online chat app like this would need 100s of connections
