OT, but interesting:
Read this article if you're hosting/developing/testing ASP stuff that uses Session state and your machine name has an underscore character in it <<Q316112 - PRB Session Variables Do Not Persist Between Requests After You Install Internet Explorer Security Patch MS01-55.url>> http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;q316112 Essentially it boils down to this, if security patch MS01-55 for Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 or 6.0 has been applied - we all keep are machines updated don't we - session state can be lost between requests to the server because "Internet Explorer blocks cookies from a server if the server name contains other characters, such as an underscore character ("_")." Yes I can here all you developers saying you shouldn't use session state I'm one of them - but I think it's OK to store certain data types or objects with the appropriate threading model (See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q243543 if details) Don't get your fingers burnt chasing a problem that's out of your control.
