Hi,

I have just finished putting together a CMS which uses content driven from
a db. Thinking ahead to when this will be released to the client I can
foresee a slight problem.

Their existing static site has links like
http://www.mysite.org.uk/books/index.htm. The same page under the new CMS
looks a little more complex:
http://www.mysite.org.uk/index.cfm?fuseaction=home.content&circuitid=1&contentid=14

Now when a user want to go straight to the books they have to remember the
whole 9 yards which is a little annoying. Has anyone else come across this
problem and is there a way to alias the long url with the short url? I was
thinking along the lines of adding an extra column to the db table called
alias and then specifying an alias for each content which could then
somehow be used to point to the correct long url?

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Dave
