Yeah, I had a weird thing happen the other day and all my VSS didn't quite work as it should with VS6. Both were installed (VS and VSS), but the full integration wasn't there.
I had to do a complete uninstall of Visual Studio, delete all the files and removed the registry data for Visual Studio (disclaimer, you mess it up it's your own problem!). Then when I reinstalled VSS worked nicely again. If VSS has been previously installed it won't reinstall properly unless you have removed all previous traces, and this is what broke the Studio&VSS integration.
