it's all much of a muchness really, but often the quick fix isn't exactly
unorthodox, because it is required simply *because* there is no 'standard'
solution, or that solution would cause too much headaches.  unorthodox
implies it's not conventional, when the converse can be commonly true.

a quick "fix" is an unorthodox solution to a problem, where a
normal/standard/recommended solution is available.
