true. missed that. Im still not convinced that CF can input and extract
images from a db easily. it doesnt seem to deal with binary data like that
from what I've been trying and researching.

Im only doing it to test out a method of accomplishing a task so might end
up using a different method. Was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts?

Will let you know what I find anyhows :)

image.cfm

<img src="yourFilePath/#image#">

All that File.ServerFile gives you is the name of the uploaded file, not
the binary content of that file.

Hi,

Im testing out a system which might add images into a MySql database.
Currently I've got the images going into it (I think) using:
<cffile action=upload>
<cfset newfile="cffile.serverfile">
<cfquery.....>
insert into table
(image)
Values
(#newfile#)
</cfquery>

Looking at the db, the image seems to be in there.

Now to view it, Im trying this:

<img src="image.cfm?id=1">
where image.cfm contains:
<cfcontent type="image/gif">
<cfoutput>#image#</cfoutput>

AND ALSO:
<cfcontent type="image/gif" file="#image#">

to no avail. any pointers on how to read the image out of the db?

Cheers,
Douglas McKenzie
