You should have no problems. We run SQL Server 7 on some servers and use
SQL Server 2000 Client Tools to connect to them. We use it this was as the
Query Analyser is far far better than the one which ships with SQL Server 7.

You really should have no problems, the ISP is wrong.

Subject: [ cf-dev ] Slightly OT - Connecting to SQL7 via SQL2000 Ent.
Manager

Does anyone know if there's a problem connecting to a SQL7 database with
SQL2000 Enterprise Manager? It's not one encountered before, but we're
trying to connect to a client's existing database, and their ISP is
saying that SQL2000 Enterprise Manager won't connect to a SQL7 database
- we can connect to the SQL server, but not see any databases there.

Is there another tool we could use to connect to that database?
