actually spike is right, the evaluate would be necessary if ia_id wasnt an
integer
for instance

with evaluate

<Cfset shite=0.5>
<Cfset crap=evaluate(int(shite)+0.5)>
<Cfoutput>crap=#crap#</cfoutput>

crap=0.5

without evaluate

<Cfset shite=0.5>
<Cfset crap=int(shite+0.5)>
<Cfoutput>crap=#crap#</cfoutput>

crap=1

Cheers guys, a solution and an explanation in quick succession. :o)

> just out of curiousity, why have you got non integer ids?

I haven't. I don't know why I put the int() in there. It must have
been a Friday. Or a Monday. Possibly a Tuesday... ;o)

Anyway, putting the int() in there means that I can do the suggested
above without using an evauluate(), so all's well that ends well. :o)
