Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] SO Editor

Just taken a look at So-editor-lite, installed the files on server including
the custom tag and made a small change to apache, and called the custom tag
at the end of a test page with the default,

<form action="myfile.cfm">
<cf_soEditor_lite
    form="documentation"
    field="soeditor"
    scriptpath="/siteobjects/soeditor/lite/"></form>
So a text editor field appears and I can add images/text/tables etc to this
editing area which appears to be working.

Try saving the file now though and nothing happens. Is it installed
correctly, should it be showing the text of the page, including images, of
the page in which it is called, or is it only for adding text/images to
pages and must you use, I`ll try looking at more docs later, meanwhile,
regarding the following, anyone got a typical piece of example code doing
the following, if not I`ll try the following:

"Read the file contents into available using CFFile.
Invoke soEditor inside a HTML form element. Make sure to use the specify
"post" as the FORM's method.
Pass file contents into soEditor by way of the html attribute.
Parse the edited contents in the template specified in the FORM tag's action
attribute, by accessing the contents through the FORM scope. The name of the
form variable will match the value specified in soEditor's field attribute.
Write the file back to the server hard drive using CFFILE. PLEASE save all
files with the extension of HTML or HTM. Allowing users to specify the
file's extension will expose your server to major security flaws as users
will be able to execute dynamic script with extensions such as ASP, CFM, or
PHP. "

Subject: [ cf-dev ] SO Odditor / This is not secure in any way

Hi all,

I've got a problem an a page where I'm getting an alert on load saying "this
is not secure in any way!" . All there is in the page though is a simple
select query and a So Editor Lite tag which is the only thing i could think
would cause this. Just wondering if anyone has come across this before or
has any idea what it might be. When clicking OK on the alert, a new browser
window opens up going to macromedia's coldfusion site...
