if your queries aren't properly locked down. normally this wouldn't be a problem, on a low-traffic site with an Access db. However, if you examine your logs, you'll see when any of the major spiders visit your site, they are requesting a lot of pages in a very short space of time. so simultaneous updating of your tables could be occurring, causing the error. at least that's my best guess.
