It is possible, but you have to run a trial against the card via your card service provider ... you would usually already have "real time" card authorisation/debiting facilities from your provider and then it is "extra" on top of that
It's more a banking / card issue than a "can it be done" issue ... yes it can - talk to them if you are prepared to pay 'em :-) Chris -----Original Message----- From: Robertson-Ravo, Neil (REC) [mailto:Neil.Robertson-Ravo@;csd.reedexpo.com] Sent: 05 November 2002 10:10 To: '[EMAIL PROTECTED]' Subject: RE: [ cf-dev ] OT: validating a credit card number jeez, what kind of product is it? I would be suprised if anyone would voluntarily enter the data if it were simply a trial! -----Original Message----- From: Kola Oyedeji [mailto:kola.oyedeji@;iclployalty.com] Sent: 05 November 2002 10:08 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: [ cf-dev ] OT: validating a credit card number Hi We currently have a project in which we enable users to trial a product. Users are required to enter a credit card which is not debited until the trial has expired. Does anyone know if it is possible to validate if a credit account is a valid and active account (i.e. not just a mod 10 check) without debiting any money? How is this usually done? Any advice deeply appreciated.
