I don't think so. Surely if you catch the error in cfcatch, then it won't get handled 
elsewhere aswell.

Please can somebody confirm whether the following is true:

A error occuring in a CFTRY block that is caught with CFCATCH, will still throw an 
error, and execute the template specified in a CFERROR tag defined in application.cfm.
