I wrote a simple page gzipper once that worked pretty well albeit from the CF level, 
though it wasn't happy with framed content as I basically CFCONTENTed the gzipped page 
back to the browser.
Have you looked at JetNexus http://www.metalminds.com/jnProdOview.htm. We had a trial 
of it for a bit and it was pretty sweet though the price tag is a bit steep!
