Thought the same had happened to myself when I got it first, not to say you
could ever make the same mistake, only to discover I had view/head content
checked, unchecking let me see the files in design/code design I thought
were crashed by DWMX : ( You might check if the browser is set to 127.0.0.1
for CF files if you have say MX pointing at IIS. Dunno if there are recent
patches for DWMX?

Well at work where I am getting the problem I don't have zone alarm. At
home where DW now works fine I do have zone alarm and I haven't patched
DW yet.

Are you running a firewall? Is it ZoneAlarm, if it is then I know there
is a
problem with DW and that particular firewall.

I don't think that these files were that big. I am not at work now so I
can't check. It happened with several different ones though and I didn't
think that all of them could have been that big.

hmm. this is strange, there was a real problem during the alpha and beta
with this, especially with index.cfm files which have 1,000s of lines in
them......

DWMX is still unstable though. I have tried the update but it still
mysteriously disappears when I try to open some files. Strangely I have
only seen it happen when I try to open index.cfm files. I don't think
that it has happened with any other file names.

Still useful to know about the patch though.

We (Giles and I) tried MDAC 2.7 from MS without success, but we actually
solved the problem by installing Access2K directly onto the server. I
should
also point out that this is an NT4 box .
