I've recently come across this problem, using somebody else's site. The session seems to get knacked in IE6. But its not a CF site, so it could just be crap implementation of sessions.
Of course you could just prove it to your boss by lowering the cookies security setting in IE6 and showing him/her that it works. Also, you might have more luck if you create a compact privacy policy for the site.
