Yes there is a patch, but in some organisations you do not have the simple
ease of just downloading a patch or service pack and then installing it.
When you have millions of �'s of mission critical applications running on
these servers you have to test in a hived-off environment, even for the
smallest of patches - its annoying but its a fact of life.

BTW: for anyone who's running SQL server 2000, this vulnerability does have
a fix. The problem was found about 6 months ago and MS released fix info at
the time.

People have been talking about the need for firewalling it all over the
lists, but its not strictly necessary.
