Ok maybe I wasn't as clever as I thought ..... I have created a new login.
<General Tab> Selected the user from the windows users on the machine (me) Windows Authentication Domain MARGE Grant Access Default Database Northwind Language British English <Server Roles> System Administrator <Database Access> All databases ticked Database roles for northwind db_owner Now I can't connect :-( All I want is to give my account administrator rights over the SQL server. Seeing as I 'll probably be the one looking after it if I ever get it going .....
