I am considering creating an outbound fax service. I have some expensive fax
hardware which could be used to send faxes for CF applications. Parameters
would be say;
Action = "Send | Query Queue"
TransactionID="#MyTransactionID#"
Number ="#NumberToSendTo#"
AccountID ="#MyFaxServiceAccountID#"
ContentType = "ASCII | PDF | TIFF"
ContentURL = "#MydynamicContentURL#"
IsSpam = "NO"
This would be a low priced product - perhaps a small account management fee
and then a per minute charge based on BT pricing. Developers who used the
service would get a 15% commission on profits from call charges to the
customer.
I see it being used for transactional documents including
* orders
* order confirmations
* invoices
I know that efax work in this space but they are simply not interested in
this sort of business and would not support application developers.
What do you think? Do any of your customers have need of this product? What
features would you like to see?
