having used mysql I quite like the help file that comes with it... you can run it command line, or you can use MYSQL front, or phpMyAdmin (you'll need php for this)... as for other guis, I've not tried them... You can use myODBC, but that can be ARS* to get to work properly!
SapDB, does have a gui, that looks kind of like Enterprise Manager for SQL server, I've not used it, but can it be that hard?
