I'll try to test it later, but here's the old system...
basefile.cfm, which calls...
cf_customtag, which includes...
customtagheaderinclude.cfm (writes session and copies to request)
And IIRC, the request.dr structure was avaliable to the cf_customtag after the header was included. HMMMMM!!!

is it possible you were copying keys rather than whole scopes when your code
was in the CT?
