We were dynamically changing the text content of the div in javascript, but it was messing it all up on the mac. the content of the div was getting stacked on top of itself, i.e instead of having a div with say 5 lines of text broken up with <br>'s, it was putting all 5 lines onto the one line so they were all overlapping. we had to add "\n" to the end of the text we were adding for it to work.
