Subject: [ cf-dev ] soEditor

Got the SiteObjects soEditor (lite) on a form. This only works on IE on
certain platforms. On other browser/platform combinations, it displays
a textarea. Using Javascript to set the content of the form dynamically.
No problems there.

Got some coldfusion that is cleaning up the content that gets placed
into the soEditor object / textarea. Basically I need to turn CRLF
combinations
(#Chr(13)##Chr(10)#) into something that both soEditor and the textarea
will recognise as being line breaks. If I don't clean up the text at
all, it displays nicely in the textarea, but loses the linebreaks on the
soEditor.

So it's a two part question:
I: Is there some way I can turn crlf into something that will display
linebreaks / paragraph breaks correctly in both a textarea and soEditor
II: Is there any *server-side* way I can detect whether soEditor or a
textarea will be displayed. I've already got a good way of working this
out in Javascript, but not sure how it could be replicated in
coldfusion. I'm not about to pass a url parameter, as the form's way too
complicated to start doing that.

I suppose a third option would be to just clean up the text in the
Javascript...
