Hi Guys Has anyone got any experience with setting up an automated, nightly incremental backup using winzip? I want to e-mail myself a zip every night to a BT e-mail address but If I send the whole zip every night it would be almost 200 MB so I just want to do a full zip say every Sunday then incrementally send zips on all of the other nights. Thing is I think that when you do an incremental zip with winzip it replaces the original zip with the incremental zip. Can I then base another incremental fine on an incremental file? Of course this 200MB includes the actual wwwroot files which shouldn't actually change and I have a copy of them locally anyway. Perhaps I should just e-mail a zip of the databases and the e-mail every night as the databases are likely to change every day. I have also heard that winzip can create corrupted files if the file it is trying to zip is in use. I though of stopping the CF and e-mail services before I do the zip but I will probably be doing this with CF so stopping the CF services may not be the best paln - suppose I could just stop the ODBC service so the databases will not be locked. Any thoughts anyone? Thanks Giles Roadnight http://giles.roadnight.name
