Thanks for this .....

I have used the code and it all passes without errors but doesn't return
any records.
As I don't understand what it does in the first place I can't really find
out why ..... :-(

Advanced joins are a mystery to me sorry ..... I should know all about it
but its been a long while since I was at college and I think I missed the
joins lesson anyway .....

<CFQUERY    NAME="get_Report_Details"
      DATASOURCE="WebUserDSN">
      SELECT Report_Details.doc_path,  Report_Details.Report_Name,
Doc_Type.Doc_Type
      FROM Report_Details
      LEFT JOIN Phases ON Report_Details.Phases LIKE '%Phases.Phase_ID%'
            LEFT JOIN Doc_Type ON Report_Details.doc_type_id =
Doc_Type.Doc_Type_ID
      WHERE   Report_Details.Group_ID = '#url.group_ID#' AND Phases.Phase
='#url.phase#'
</cfquery>

So can anyone explain what it does and why it's not doing what it should
.... See Previous message for tables etc......

Regards - Paul
