I used to work for DirecPC. They had very good service, including TV. That said, I never price-compared them with competitors, and I have no idea whether or not they're available in the UK. I suppose that isn't much help, is it?

Under no circumstances use BT.. They tried for there months to get it working for us two visits by a n engineer. It worked for 112 hous in total and the speed was less than my ISDN! The support staff in Germany clock off at 5 they have no support you can get through to and no Voice mail you just get cut off after 15 mins hanging on. BT its very best. We did not pay up front which was the only good thing. Can you see anywhere that has ADSL if so I would use a Microwave Link. we used that as across the bay has ADSL and the village where I live did not. You may be able to get a Grant towards the cost let me know if details would be useful.
