cfschedule, setup a daily schedule via the cf administrator to go at
whatever time you like. just call a .cfm page that has this code:

<cfscript>
args = arraynew(1);
arrayappend(args,timeformat(dateadd('n',1,Now()),'HH:MM:SS'));
arrayappend(args,'c:\cfusion\bin\dc_restart.bat');
</cfscript>

<cfexecute name="C:\winnt\system32\at.exe" arguments="#args#" timeout="5"/>

daily restart. seems to make things run slightly more smoothly,
particularly Verity. schedule it for a time when you don't expect it'll be
busy, e.g. 3am.

Thank you v.v.much - it worked - email and attachment got sent perfectly
after CF restart

Can I just ask everyone if they use a scheduled restart of CF on a
daily/weekly basis for example? and what benefits would this have exactly?

thanks everyone else for their suggestions - i can stop pulling hair out
now

I remember we encountered a similar problem when sending email with
attachment....
Could not find a solution and finally restarted the cf service and seemed
to
solve the problem...we are on cf5

no i have tried existing files, hardcoding the path to the file, empty
files
- they all generate this message but as soon as i remove the <cfmailparam>
tag the error doesn't occur (but i don't get the attach obviously)
