Try

FileExists("ExpandPath("reports\#get_years.date_year#\#phase#\#pathName#\#ur
l.school#\#fileName##docType#")")

FileExists needs an absolute path.

Subject: [ cf-dev ] Syntax ?

Ok read the book altered code etc still can't fatham why I can't see the
report...?

<cfif FileExists
("reports/#get_years.date_year#/#phase#/#pathName#/#url.school#/#fileName##d
ocType#")>
      <a href
="reports/#get_years.date_year#/#phase#/#pathName#/#url.school#/#url.school#
#docType#">
#get_years.date_year#</a>
<cfelse>
      #get_years.date_year#
</cfif>

you should see a layout like this ...

 School Context & Performance       2001    2002    2003
 Profile

There is only data for 2002 so 2002 becomes a link ....

The report exists in d:
\wwwroot\perform\reports\2002\primary\profs\1706\1706.pdf

Whats the syntax to make the fileexists work :(

Regards - Paul
