First off....as you know...a LIKE search will be slow as hell, that's just
the nature of that type of search... 

Try and update your tables statistics and see what kind of performance
increase it gives you.   Also, If its not already...throw the query into a
Stored Procedure and begin to use SQL HINTS on it and you will find that
with small tweaks you can begin to glean performance benefits..

I have a table in a BIG database where I need to search on a varchar field
like this

Select * from table
Where company_name LIKE '%#form.company_name#%'

But it is slow as hell.
Every thing else is running at a decent speed, on direct comparisens and
even if I do a LIKE '#form.company_name#%' it is fast enough.

I have indexes and a ful-text catalog, ios there any other way to speed up
such a query ?
