Can you create a test web site on that IP address and let us know (or e-mail
me off-list) the IP, host name and port?

Subject: [ cf-dev ] SOT: IIS4 multi IP problem

I've got an NT4 server running 20 or 30 sites. It has 4 individual IP
addresses which are used for shopping sites SSL certs, which has all been
running fine for several years.

One of the shopping sites was closed down about 6 months ago, so one of the
unique IP addresses has been freed up. Another shop is to go on the box so
I've put it on under that IP ready to take a new certificate.

The problem is, when I browse the site using that IP address, it runs slower
than a stoned tortoise with one leg.

I've checked through all of the virtual sites in IIS to see if any of them
were using the same IP (although that shouldn't matter because I tried
browsing under a unique port number)... not one. I've removed the expired
SSL certificate of the old site and that makes no difference.

The site browses incredibly slowly... it takes minutes for a "hello world"
flat html page to display, and there is no visible effect on the server's
memory or CPU usage.

... here's the real stinker:

If I assign this site any of the other IP addresses and use a unique port
number to browse. No problem whatsoever.

I've tried assigning that IP address and a unique port to a different
virtual site and browsing that. Same thing... ridiculously slow.

I've pinged the IP, tried traceroutes... it's giving me the same times as
the other IP addresses. I can even ftp over it with no change in speed from
the other IPs. I've stop/started the site, stop/started IIS and even
rebooted the machine.

and now I'm all out of ideas.

Anybody?
Taz
