Yes, but that is effectively not an ODBC date you are passing to Access,
which will can cause confusion with American date formats, e.g. 4-9-2004 can
be construed as 9 April instead of 4 September.
You may well also have to redo your query if you want to move your
datasource to something like SQL Server.
With your original code you should remove the quotes from around the
ODBCDates so you have
SET Tour_dates.departuredates = #Departure_Date#
, Tour_dates.returndates = #Return_Date#
