Some of you may remember that we have been having ongoing problems with our
web servers/CF
using the cluster cats load monitor - when we get a problem - you can see
the load shoot up from say 14% to 100% on one of the two servers and it just
stays there. Using CFSTAT at the same time shows that the available request
limit of 10 threads has been hit and stays there and the queued requests
steadily rise. Then they stay there for a period of time and begin to fall
and then go back up again
I have read that this can happen if a call to an external system (e.g.
database) does not return a result or loops?
Is there any way that I can tell (e.g. in a particular log file or another
method), as and when these problems happen, which particular page or query
is running and maybe looping at that particular time? Basically I need some
ideas of how we can pinpoint any troublesome pages/code/DB Calls or anything
else anyone can think of?
(Restarting CF sometimes seems to sort things out a bit but that is more
solving the ongoing symptoms than addressing the underlying cause)
