Omg, today is definitely the day where ppl have "repeated discussions"(1). Not just
because of this e-mail either.

There is definitely a need for a single portal which is all about how these
discussions ended, then we can google the result and get on with our lives.

1. Repeated Discussions: a debate that happens over and over again on the Internet,
usually with the same outcome each time, normally brought about when someone doesn't
know enough about a topic but insists they are correct.

Subject: [ cf-dev ] OT: MS vs Linux - worth a laugh... sorry look!

http://www.microsoft.com/mscorp/facts/default.asp

Especially enjoyed the lines where it says:

"A 2002 Microsoft-sponsored study..."

(was that 2002? sounds like it's quite an old study) and also the gem:

"Microsoft-sponsored benchmarks prove that..."

Heh! Still, I'm quite impressed that they put up a site that displays
this information from their webservers! I found it on an advert for
Windows Server System that states

"Windows server offers a saving of 11%-22% over Linux in 4 out of 5
workload scenarios"

Which I really enjoyed because it means linux absolutely WHOOPED Windows
in the other 20% of cases (prob those when linux was configured and used
CORRECTLY).

Sorry, just had to share the general mirth going around my (albeit only
my) office!

Paul
