C# comes with a "hello world" web service code template to show how easy it is to make. So I guess anyone using C# will be creating services because it's so easy now - hence the rise in demand for it by consumers over the last 3 months.

Yes unfortunately that does seem to be the reason a lot of people use QofQ and, until recently, I've avoided it like the plague. There is a place and time to use it, but there are few and far between. Getting subsets of data that the application already has access to is about the only thing I use it for. Quicker than going back to the DB and saves on caching.
