I think your reading the docs for beta2 (not sure if they have been updated
for beta3 yet !).. it WAS going to have a lot of stuff crippled
(CFCOMPONENT/CFFUNCTION etc).. now (in beta3) it has almost full
functionality (tag wise) (after a lot of badgering telling them it was
unwise to cripple so much in the free version.

Speed-wise its written in java too so I would have thought about the same.
Ive not found any speed problems so far.

The free version is quite seriously crippled. A lot of tags missing, don't
think you would be able to use it for that many apps.
