Further to my previous post, I actually miswrote something

 

It needs to alter spreadsheets (not create), just editing specific cells.  Once the values are in its needs to automatically create charts also.

Hi All,

I need to dynamically create excel speadsheets on Solaris.  Now I absolutely nothing about Solaris, but I'm assuming I won't have access to COM, which makes things tricky.

I'm thinking at the moment I'm going to have to get the user to download a CSV file with the data, have a VBScript to read the CSV file and create/alter the spreadsheet via COM (the client machine will be windows XP) and then have a batch process to automatically FTP the file back onto the server.

Does anyone who an easier way than whats detailed above?
