check out the portal and please, if you want to see something there, then "suggest a link"

http://forum.cfdeveloper.co.uk/I think the thing is, that no-one's done it yet, and so let's just get "something" up as something is better than nothing.
Anyone got any other ideas what should be on coldfusion.org.uk?
Like CMS solutions, applications for CF (like activepdf) etc?

We can certainly open up more sections to have more resources added.
Allow everyone to add and then have a couple of moderators.
What do you think Lucas?

Hey Russ, Have a look at Farcry, totally open source CMS based on CF.
It currently runs both the MMUG.co.uk site and the UKCFUG.org site...

Support is the problem, I have appoached MM b4, but if your not a usergroup they can't really be arsed with you, they only seem to be interested in official CFUG's. All the suppor ti have had so far is from 3rd parties. My company CFMX hosting provides all the hosting, and got the following products provided free.... Fusetalk, proworkflow, actrivePDF, a dir protection tool form megenta systems, and some others... All for the use rof the developer son the site. I suppose what we really need to blagg is a CMS like shado to build a nice site with, anyone have a contact there?

I think we should stick behind one site, and make it open to all, but we need more than just links. We need a UK based site like CFdeveloper.co.uk that is supported by Macromedia.

Maybe, but it would be nice to have a simple site that just linked to all the resources. No login, no forums, no lists. Basically your good old-fashioned portal. Nothing flash.

So yet another CF site to add to the thousands already out there.
It would be far more sensible to make use of what we
already, whyCfdeveloper is wellknown and has thousands of members

Ok. After the thread of emails generated, I've setup a new website (only bought the domain yesterday, so lets hope the DNS servers have updated!).
Basically, it's a community site, attempting to give resources to ColdFusion developers and promoters in the UK.
To start it only has a simple place to put sites up there that use CF, I think it could be useful. There's also a suggestion box!
Paul
PS If anyone wants to design it, then let me know!
