I had a similer problem moving from 5 to MX What I have done is siple Go the
administrator page to 
                        Server Settings and check  Use UUID for cftoken this
will keep your sessions.

It did work in my case.

Just added setdomaincookies="No" in the cfapplication... Does CF
automatically set this to Yes if its not defined?  Any pointers on getting
the session to work across two domains - im not sure what you mean any
examples?

Are u setting domain cookies, because you will need to to have the same
session work across those 2.
