I don't use ASP but If I have an Access Db open in Access and am in the design of a table CF throws an error if CF tries to access the Db. I've found that you can have the Db open in access in data view mode.
Maintain Db connections is definitely something I'd start by looking at,

Subject: [ cf-dev ] SOT: Access error
Got a site that uses mostly CF and a little bit of ASP. Sometimes when
calling the ASP pages, get the following error:
Microsoft JET Database Engine error '80004005'
Could not use ''; file already in use.
From what I can tell this could be one of three things:
- incorrect permissions
- wrong version of MDAC
- wrong connection string
However, could it also be caused by CF creating a .ldb file on the
database? If so, I guess unchecking 'maintain database connections' on
this datasource might fix it? Any ideas, confirmation on this...
