Is report_id set as the identity column in your old server? Make sure
it's still set as identity in the new one.

Subject: [ cf-dev ] SOT - SQL

I have just moved an SQL database from one server to another. I have
setup
all of the connections in MX administrator all OK and everything worked
fine.
However the backend admin system is another story :(

I am trying to add data to the database and get the following error.

[Macromedia][SQLServer JDBC Driver][SQLServer]Cannot insert the value
NULL into column
'Report_ID', table 'schools_performance.dbo.Report_Names'; column does
not allow nulls.
INSERT fails.

The data trying to be inserted according to the error page is ...

INSERT INTO Report_Names (report_name, path_name, Doc_Type_ID) VALUES
('summer reports', 'summer', '3')
SELECT @@IDENTITY AS 'last_record_ID'
DATASOURCE WebUserDSN

I still have the database & code on the old server and all works fine
there.

I imported the data from the old server to the new server. All appears
to be the same ....

Any ideas?

Regards - Paul
