There is nothing wrong with lists in a column if there is good reason for it and it can be managed correctly....its not good relational design and its does break one of the 'rules' of RDBMS but with Views and UDF's etc you can extract data from a table into a workable relational design with ease without modifying the underlying tables as-is..
