[ cf-dev ] Finding out if a string contains particular characters

Hi guys,   Bit of a basic question I'm sure but I need to find a way of seeing if a string in a database record contains the characters <a (i.e. the start of a link).   Depending on the answer I want to run one of two sets of code.   How can I do this in Cold Fusion? I'm running version 5.0   Cheers again, JamesB
