Hi all, Following discussions in the board of directors this Wednesday (and mostly talks between me and Hans as the coordinators for 1.8 and 2.0), we have decided it would probably be better to limit confusion of users between 2.0 and 1.8.8 by not releasing them too close from one another.
This means that 2.0 stable should still be on schedule for a release on the 6th of December, while 1.8.8 will wait until the 15th of January for its release. We think this is the best solution. In the eventuality of a specific security need, we might have to change that a little (in favor of a 1.8.7.2, for example), but let's hope that doesn't happen. If you have any better suggestion, please write to this list or to me directly so we can discuss it.
