Hello Hans, I’ve read about the idea for making ini language files. There is another fundamental problem left: How about the javascript language files? They are needed for the editor and its plugins, perhaps for other javascript libraries too. It would be nice if the translators are able to cover javascript kind of translations, we need an idea about this.
Happy new year! At the same time the entire translation structure for 2.0 was overhauled (moving from language php-scripts to language php ini-files). Some final tweaks (and small features) still remain for the actual translation application, but apart from that we only have one final step to take: delete "all" current variables for 2.0 and import the i18n files which are in the repository right now for all packages. Once that has been cleaned up, translating should be useful again. I'll check with Sven (when he gets back from holiday next week) to see what still needs to be done, who can do it and when things could be up and running (again). One of the things that comes to mind as still to be done is a stricter separation between versions of translations. (Not necissarily just 1.8.x >< 2.x, but also 2.0 >< 2.1, etc.) Best regards, Hans On 03/01/2011 22:04, Yannick Warnier wrote: Hi all, Happy new year! I've been slowly more and more confused with the translation effort for Chamilo 2.0. What is the normal process for translations now? Is it still recommended to use http://translate.chamilo.org? If the translation application is better in Chamilo 2.0, has it already been applied to translate.chamilo.org? Could somebody (not Hans) look into that? Some time in the past we talked about "cleaning" all language variables once and remain with only the real used ones... I don't think we got there yet. Maybe a internship for language school could look into that?
