Of course !

Basically, not all the rules can be enforced and within those which cn, not all should be enforced. You can already have a look at the Standard I've set up earlier which is quite light but already giving strong hints about what is wrong in the coding style of some class (old style constructor, very long lines, etc). I'll try to judge what is relevant to add or change but in the end it sould be an help and can be a great tool combined to a config for eclipse / netbeans

Philippe,

Greatly appreciated. Keep in mind that those rules are not set in stone and in some cases need to be a bit flexible to keep things readable (arrays and object instantiations being the most obvious offenders)

Best regards,
Hans

I'll try to modify the PHPCodeSniffer Standard I made for Chamilo according to those conventions so that The CI server will generate a report about violations of it

Hi all,

Based on my formatting profile in Zend Studio and common practices as promoted these last few years, I've added a page about coding conventions on the support site wiki:

http://support.chamilo.org/projects/chamilo-20/wiki/CodingConventions

The list will no doubt get longer since there are plenty of things I just do without giving it all that much thought, but these should be the basics.

Could one of the people who use Netbeans add their template / profile which conforms to these rules to the page? (PJ already zipped it once before if I remember correctly)

Best regards,
