Summary: Application switcher 'flicker' with zoom=0
Product: Compiz Fusion
Version: 0.7.4
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: Plugins
AssignedTo: [email protected]
ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
When zoom=0, the app switcher plugin redraws the switched-from app once before
switching to the target. This causes some 'flicker'. (I put in quotes because
its not really flicker in the normal sense, but its just as distracting.)
To reproduce:
With the application switcher plugin, set zoom to 0 and enable 'bring to
front.' Then open a handful of windows. Bring one window to the front, call
this one A. Use the switcher (default alt-tab) to switch to another window that
is positioned behind A, call this one B. While you've still got alt held down,
and you've tabbed to B, notice that B is now in front of A. But when you let go
of alt, A will be raised again for a split second before B is finally raised.
(That is, A is redrawn, and then subsequently B is raised.) This doesn't happen
with any amount of zoom. I rather dislike the zoom, but this split-second
raising of the previous window is horribly distracting, especially with
maximized windows.
