Summary: Scale window arrangement policy suggestion: emulate
emacs ido-mode for buffer switching
Product: Compiz Fusion
Version: git HEAD
Platform: PC
OS/Version: Linux
Status: UNCONFIRMED
Severity: normal
Priority: P3
Component: Plugins

What is the window arrangement policy when using the filter plugin? I propose
that the windows be arranged by most frequently used but make it so that if the
current active window is included in the matches, the current active window is
not the default choice. This way, the alt tab behaviour is emulated. Switching
back and forth between a pair of windows only takes activating scale, then
enter. This is akin to emacs ido mode for switching to different buffers.
As a note, to properly emulate this behaviour, scale filter must be on. If the
user activates scale and does not want to switch windows, pressing escape
should return to the original window. However, pressing enter or deactivating
scale through the scale hotkey, should raise the most recently used window.
