Hi Danny,

Are you installing the image in a VM or on a real hardware?
The purpose of the patch was only for VM, not for real hardware.

On a real hardware, the patch will not have any effect since the USB-stick
should be "removable" anyway.

Which version of MIC did you use? The usb script in common-yum has been changed
after the 0.47 release (why??)
In the 0.47 version, the "removable" check for moblin2 was already removed, now
it seems to be back ...
Thus, could you please try it with the original 0.47 MIC?

Regards,
Marcel

basedimage

Marcel,

I seem to be having the same type of problem on a moblin2 image. I created an
Install USB image for an older eeePC but received the same loop during install.
Afterwards, I applied the patch in Bug135 to the usb file but this did not fix
it. I now receive the error
/dev/sda does not contain a rootfs
/dev/sdb does not contain a rootfs
/dev/sdc does not contain a rootfs
/dev/sdd does not contain a rootfs

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Danny

Hi Nithish,

It seems that this problem has already been fixed for moblin2 platforms. Most
of the moblin1 platforms use still the "old" usb script. Moblin Bugzilla Bug
135 has been created recently to describe this issue. I can add a comment and
suggest how to solve this.

Regards,
Marcel

Does this mean the usb initramfs script requires some fix? Suggest we track
this if it is a real issue.

thanks for that solution. With a little modification it works :)

Posting them here for the archives.

If [ 1 -eq 1 ]; then
If [ 1 -eq 1 ]; then

Shell script needed the whitespaces after the '[' .

Thanks,
Mathias
