First let me point out that MIC (1 or 2) is a generic tool that can be
used to create images from any yum or apt package repository.
MIC1 will live as long as people find it useful, which might be to build
stacks that have nothing to do with moblin. Ideally the merits of mic2
will be such that it becomes an obvious choice to migrate too
(regardless of if you are pulling from mobin repos or not), but that's
up to the project using mic.
Our long term plan is to invest in MIC2, both in developing the tool
itself, and in creating kickstart files that create images from the
Moblin v2 package repositories.
There is no such thing as Moblin v1 package repositories. Keeping MIC1
or making MIC2 work with OSV repositories is a job for that OSV (or open
project associated with the OSV like UME.)
I don't have specific road map dates, but moorestown specific features
are landing any day now in MIC2.
