openContrail only supports Hardware VTEP schema for OVSDB, so it cannot manage virtual machines in openvswitch. You can try translating the vswitch schema to VTEP schema using https://github.com/Juniper/contrail-test/wiki/Setting-up-an-openvswitch-VM-for-Contrail-Baremetal-tests However this is not a supported model.
Third party Physical Switches which supports OVSDB, should work fine with openContrail. ― Prabhjot From: Dev <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> on behalf of 杨志 <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Date: Saturday, 4 July 2015 11:21 am To: "[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>" <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Subject: [opencontrail-dev] Can openContrail R2.1 manage openvswitch via OVSDB? Hi, I know that openContrail R2.1 baremetal support feature enable users to extend their virtual network to physical servers behind a OVSDB-managed ToR switch, i.e, juniper QFX5100. My question is that can openContrail manage an openvswitch and virtual machines connected to it? If the answer is yes, what's the configuration on contrail and openvswitch, including the host containing the ovs? Another question is that can QFX5100 be replaced by other third-party physical switches which also support OVSDB? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks, Sven
