Hi Yatin,

The script does not follow the full procedure of restoring from snapshot and
according to
http://docs.datastax.com/en/cassandra/2.0/cassandra/operations/ops_backup_restore_c.html,
different things need to be done in different scenarios.. I think complex
cassandra operations like
adding/removing/replacing nodes should involve manual intervention..

I would prefer we don’t put this ‘incomplete' script on the target..

regards,
-Raj

this script should be placed under 'contrail-provisioning-tools" package.

The script is missing from SConscript [
https://review.opencontrail.org/#/c/12920/ ]

I guess, the contrail-packages will pick up this script.

Correct my understanding, if it's not valid.

The script at

https://github.com/Juniper/contrail-controller/blob/master/src/config/utils/cass-db-restore.sh

The code location says /utils, hence, we should bring that to
/opt/contrail/utils location.

Which contrail repo, we should look into for this work?

Yatin

I see the issue. Raj could you guide Naveen.

(We should fix the doc or put the correct script in /opt/contrail/utils. I see
cass-db-restore.sh is there.)

Subject: [opencontrail-dev] Cassandra backup and restore

Hi All

I have gone through the below mentioned link for the Cassandra backup and
restoring.

https://techwiki.juniper.net/Documentation/Contrail/Contrail_Controller_Feature_Guide/Optimizing_Contrail/110_Saving_and_Restoring_Configurations

I tried for the cass-db-restore-v4.sh script, but not able find it.

Can anyone point me to the location of that script ?

Thanks,
Naveen.
